Joy of my day... I've been listening to The Bridge on Sirius XM alot lately. According to Wikipedia, The Bridge is a channel "devoted to gold-based soft rock and adult contemporary music. ...The channel plays mainly 1970s acts such as Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, The Eagles and Billy Joel, along with some later '80s and '90s artists like Sting, Bonnie Raitt, and others." So, what's not to like? It just feels like home for some reason.
So I was stuck in an ice-induced traffic jam this morning rocking out to some good ol' classic rock and genuinely fell in love all over again with "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. Obviously Fleetwood Mac is amazing (one of only like 20 artists whose entire discographies I could listen to and not get bored or skip more than a couple of songs). The Chain is just a gorgeous song - the lyrics, the evolution of it - it's hard to come back to the reality of a traffic jam after spending a few minutes singing and rocking out to the bass riff and the freestyle toward the end of the song.
I think the next Rock Band special edition to come out should be Fleetwood Mac. I would buy it in a second to get to pretend to be even 1/1000th as cool as Stevie Nicks on her worst day.
